Leah Trefz

Leah received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Performance and Masters of Occupational Therapy from West Virginia University. She went on to complete The Army Occupational Therapy internship program at BAMC in 2009. She obtained her Certification as a Hand Therapist in 2015. She has worked in several military facilities both inpatient and outpatient. She has a vast array of experience to include eval and treatment for orthopedic neuro-musculoskeletal conditions including post-surgical, overuse injuries, and psychiatric diagnoses. She is trained in fabricating custom splints and orthotics. From 2016-2018 she worked at the United States Army Institute of Surgical Research where she performed evaluations and treatment of patients with burn injuries focusing on prevention and management of burn scar contractures, wound management, skin graft and flap protection, and progressing range of motion and function with activities of daily living. Leah has served with and worked as a OT with the US military and veteran population in several different locations across the US, Europe and Asia. She has experience with physical rehabilitation, mental health, concussion rehab, and health and wellness. In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, playing the violin, and traveling with her husband.
