Laser Therapy

Liberty is proud to announce deep tissue therapy as our newest treatment option. Laser therapy was approved by the FDA in 2007. The first lasers (Class III) were considered low powered or cold lasers. Professional sports teams were the first to invest in laser therapy. Olympic and College Division I schools followed. The newest lasers are (Class IV) are 30 times more powerful than Class III lasers.

Laser therapy is scientifically proven way to reduce pain and inflammation. It generates a photochemical response in damaged tissuie in a process called photobiomodulation. This process stimulates healing on a cellular level by enabling cells to more rapidly produce energy (ATP). Treatments are fast, safe and painless. Most patients experience positive results after only a few sessions.

Laser therapy has been proven to increase blood flow, accelerate tissue healing, reduce inflammation and swelling, and alleviate pain and stiffness. This drug free, surgery free and pain free treatment quickly relieves pain associated with:
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Disc injuries
  • Plantar fascitis
  • Strains/sprains
  • Back pain
  • Arthritis
  • Shoulder pain
  • Carpel tunnel
  • TMJ
  • Bursitis
  • Migraines
  • Sports injuries
Typically a series of 5-10 sessions is ideal for injury and post operative recovery. Additional sessions are beneficial for chronic conditions, multiple areas of treatment and for more severe cases of inflammation and scar tissue.

At this point, laser therapy is not covered by insurance. We are, however, offering discounted packages for our current patients.

There are some conditions which may not be appropriate for laser therapy. The laser cannot be used over a pacemaker or a malignant tumor. It cannot be used during pregnancy. If you have lost the ability to feel warm/hot temperatures you are not a candidate.

During laser therapy you will be required to wear protective eye glasses. The laser can cause blindness if you look directly into it.
