Accessibility Statement

Liberty Rehabilitation Specialists is committed to making liberty-rehab.com usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation. This statement describes our conformance target, the measures we've taken, what we know still needs work, and how to reach us if something doesn't work for you.

Conformance Target

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone. Level AA is the standard referenced in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Section 504 rule and is the benchmark most commonly applied under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Measures We've Taken

This site was built and audited with accessibility as a requirement, not an afterthought. Concretely, that includes: a skip-to-content link and a single main landmark on every page; a visible keyboard-focus indicator on every interactive element; a keyboard-operable, focus-trapped mobile navigation menu that closes on Escape; accordion menus (FAQ and condition pages) with proper expanded/collapsed state for screen readers; a multi-step appointment form with announced errors, required-field marking, and a success message read aloud automatically; descriptive alternative text on meaningful images and decorative images hidden from assistive technology; sufficient color contrast on text and on the visual boundaries of buttons, links, form fields and icons, calculated and verified against WCAG's contrast formulas rather than estimated by eye; and full support for reduced-motion preferences, so anyone who has asked their device to limit animation gets a site that renders instantly in its final state with no scroll-triggered motion. We do not use, and will not add, an accessibility overlay or widget in place of these fixes; overlays scan for issues automatically but cannot fix the underlying code, and we would rather do the work.

Ongoing Review

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review this site against WCAG 2.1 AA whenever we make substantial changes to its design or content, and we treat every piece of accessibility feedback we receive (see Feedback, below) as an action item, not a suggestion.

Known Limitations

We are not aware of any parts of this site that fail to meet WCAG 2.1 AA at the time of this review. Two categories of content sit partly outside our direct control, and we want to be upfront about them:

Third-party embeds. Our homepage reviews section uses an embedded Google Reviews widget (Elfsight) and every location's map uses an embedded Google Maps frame. We give each map a descriptive title and have verified basic keyboard access, but the internal behavior of these third-party widgets is built and maintained by Google and Elfsight, not by us, so we cannot guarantee they meet every WCAG success criterion internally. If either one causes you trouble, our office phone number and address are always available in plain text nearby as a fallback.

Linked PDF documents. Our Paperwork and Newsletters pages link to downloadable PDF files (a patient intake form and our newsletter archive). We have not yet completed a full accessibility remediation pass on these documents (adding accessible tags, verified reading order, and alternative text within the PDFs themselves). If you need any of this content in an accessible format, contact us using the information below and we will get it to you directly.

Alternative Access

If any part of this website is not accessible to you, we are glad to help over the phone or in person at any of our three San Antonio clinics as an alternative. Booking an evaluation, asking about services, or reaching our team does not require using this website at all.
