Dr. Alyssa Castillo
Dr. Alyssa Castillo graduated from the UIW School of Rehabilitation Sciences with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2025, completing her clinical experiences in outpatient and acute care. She wants to specialize in return to sport and return to hobby training, with dry needling as one of the tools that gets people there, and she enjoys treating post-operative total joint replacements, rotator cuff tears, plantar fasciitis and ACL tears. She noticed how many patients feel their concerns are not really being heard by the people treating them. She cannot change every appointment you have ever had, but she can make sure this one is different: heard, respected, and actively involved in your own recovery.
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
What guides the work.
Three values sit underneath how Alyssa works: empathy, perseverance and integrity. Empathy is the one that shows up first, in an appointment where your concerns get taken seriously instead of filed away. Perseverance is what she asks of you and gives back, because the middle stretch of a recovery is rarely the exciting part. Integrity is telling you the truth about your progress, including the weeks when the honest answer is that we need to change the plan.
Off the clock.
Life beyond the treatment table.
Alyssa crochets, keeps plants alive, bakes, exercises, and goes to the movies with friends. It is a list with a theme running through it: most of those things reward patience and repetition rather than a single burst of effort, which is more or less the deal with rehab too. She also values what this clinic can do that many cannot, one on one care, and physical and occupational therapy coordinated on the same day in the same place.
